Complete the questionnaire and upload your photos using the secure upload link provided at the end of the form. Once everything has been received, your submission enters our editorial process.
Our editorial team prepares your interview for publication and shares a private preview for your review. We’ll work with you to refine the article until you are satisfied.
After approval, your interview joins our publication queue. Once it’s scheduled, we’ll send you a confirmation email with your publication date and any promotional details.
Your interview is published on SKENE and shared across our social media channels. If you’ve submitted a video greeting, it will typically be released as part of your feature’s launch.
Your interview becomes a permanent part of the SKENE archive, where it remains freely available to readers and may continue to be featured through editorial collections, seasonal campaigns, and other opportunities.

Your interview is meant to feel like a conversation, not an application. We’re interested in your perspective, your process, and the experiences that have shaped your work. There are no right or wrong answers.

You can include additional images, such as production photos, process shots, or portraits. Make sure that you have the proper authorization to use these materials

To ensure it displays well across every device. Your cover image appears in several layouts throughout SKENE, each with a different aspect ratio, so some cropping is unavoidable. Keep your face and any important visual elements within the safe area to ensure they remain visible across desktop, tablet, mobile, and featured layouts.
A short video greeting is one of the easiest ways to help readers connect with you before they read your interview. While completely optional, we’ve found that features accompanied by a video consistently receive higher engagement on social media.
Keep it simple and natural. Around 10 to 20 seconds is ideal. A basic and natural introduction works perfectly. Something like:
“Hi, I’m [Your Name], [Your Area]. Check out my interview on SKENE!”
Feel free to personalize your greeting. Speak naturally and don’t worry about making it perfect. Authenticity is far more important than production value.
For the best results, we recommend:
Send the file by replying to your first draft review email, or directly to artists@skene.pub. We will add the captions, title cards and logos. Visit our Instagram for more examples.
Yes. We recommend setting aside 20 to 30 uninterrupted minutes to complete your interview.
Your responses aren’t shared with our editorial team until you’ve finished the interview and clicked Submit. This helps keep your information private and ensures that every interview enters the editorial process only after you’ve had the opportunity to review it in full.
Yes. Once you’ve submitted your interview, you won’t be able to return to the questionnaire, but you can continue making changes throughout the editorial review. Simply send us your revisions and we’ll update your interview before sending you an updated private preview. Your interview will never be published without your approval.
Yes. If you’re still gathering photos, photographer credits, or other materials, go ahead and submit your interview. We’ll work with you during the editorial review to collect anything that’s still missing before publication.
Yes. We’ll lightly edit your interview for grammar, spelling, clarity, and formatting while preserving your voice and intent. If we have editorial questions or recommend substantive changes, we’ll discuss them with you first. The final version is always approved by you before publication.
No. Video greetings are completely optional, but they consistently receive higher engagement on social media and help readers connect with the artists behind each feature.
Yes. We encourage you to write in the language you express yourself most comfortably. If translation is needed, our editorial team will prepare it while preserving the meaning and tone of your responses.
No problem. Your private preview link remains available for 48 hours. If you need more time, simply contact our Artist Liaison and we’ll send you a new one. We can generate a new preview link as many times as needed. This extra step helps keep your unpublished interview private until you’ve approved it for publication.
