By accessing or using any platform operated by Skene Creative Media—including but not limited to SKENE.pub (the “Site”), #skeneTEACH, Skene Community, and affiliated digital or physical services (collectively, the “Services”)—you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and our Privacy Policy. These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and Skene Creative Media, either (a) on behalf of yourself as an individual, or (b) if you are using the Services on behalf of an entity, organization, or institution, you represent that you have the authority to bind such entity to these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not use the Services. These Terms govern all use of Skene Creative Media platforms, including content submissions, privacy practices, contributor rights, intellectual property, conflict resolution procedures, and user conduct. Please read them carefully, as they affect your legal rights, including provisions regarding dispute resolution, arbitration, and limitations of liability. Skene Creative Media reserves the right to update or modify these Terms at any time, and continued use of the Services after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

SKENE.pub is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information. By using SKENE.pub, you consent to these practices.

1.10 International Transfers

The Services are operated in the United States. If you access the Services from outside the U.S., you consent to the transfer, storage, and processing of your information in the United States and other jurisdictions where we or our providers operate.

1.11 Community Communications

If you interact with other users through SKENE platforms (such as comments, forums, or messages), those communications may be accessible to SKENE for moderation, compliance, or safety purposes. Use discretion when sharing information.

1.12 Social Sharing

Certain features may integrate with third-party platforms (e.g., social media). Your interactions with these platforms are governed by their own policies, which SKENE does not control. By enabling social features, you consent to the transfer of information between SKENE and those platforms.

1.13 Do Not Track

SKENE does not currently respond to web browser “Do Not Track” signals or similar mechanisms.

1.14 Promotions

If you participate in contests, sweepstakes, or promotions hosted by SKENE, we may use and disclose the information you provide to administer such programs, consistent with this Privacy Policy.

1.15 Business Transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

1.16 Security Disclaimer

SKENE implements commercially reasonable safeguards to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.

1.17 Data Security and International Transfers

We take appropriate technical and organizational measures to secure your personal data against unauthorized access, accidental loss, or unlawful processing. Where data is transferred outside the country of origin—including to the United States—we ensure that such transfers comply with applicable data protection laws. Mechanisms such as Standard Contractual Clauses or similar frameworks may be used to safeguard international transfers.

1.18 Business Entity Information

This Site is operated by Josafath Reynoso Creative LLC, a U.S.-based limited liability company doing business as Skene Creative Media. All references to “SKENE” in this policy refer to this legal entity. If you have any questions about your data or privacy rights, please contact admin@skene.pub.


2. Contributor Terms
2.1 Voluntary Submission

All submissions to SKENE.pub (including interviews, text, visual material, concepts, and project documentation) are provided voluntarily and without expectation of compensation unless otherwise agreed in writing prior to publication.

2.2 Rights and Permissions

Contributors affirm that submissions are original works or that necessary rights, licenses, or permissions have been secured. Copyright remains with the contributor; however, contributors grant SKENE.pub a non-exclusive, royalty-free, irrevocable license to publish, distribute, promote, and archive materials across all SKENE platforms and media channels.

2.3 Editorial Rights

SKENE.pub reserves the right to edit submissions for clarity, grammar, formatting, or length. Publication is at the sole discretion of the editorial team.

SKENE is under no obligation to provide feedback, justification, or editorial notes regarding declined submissions or materials not selected for publication.

2.4 Attribution

Unless otherwise requested in writing, contributors will be credited by name and may include a short bio or relevant links. SKENE.pub credits photographers directly; courtesy credits or extended company credits are not published.

2.5 Withdrawal of Material

Contributors may request removal of their work in writing. SKENE.pub will consider such requests in good faith but reserves the right to maintain published material as part of its editorial archive.


3. Contributor Agreement
3.1 Ownership and Rights

Contributors affirm that all content, concepts, and media submitted are either original intellectual property or lawfully licensed. Contributors are responsible for securing permissions for any third-party content.

3.2 Liability

Contributors agree to indemnify and hold harmless SKENE.pub, SKENE Magazine, and Skene Creative Media from claims, damages, or legal actions arising from infringement, defamation, plagiarism, or unauthorized use of submitted content.

3.3 Use of Materials

Contributors grant SKENE an irrevocable, perpetual, non-exclusive, royalty-free right to use, edit, and publish submitted content across all platforms, including:

  • SKENE.pub digital publication
  • Social media, newsletters, and marketing campaigns
  • Print and promotional materials
  • Multimedia formats (e.g., video, photography)
3.4 Disputes and Corrections

SKENE does not publish corrections, amendments, or retractions related to submitted content. Disputes are the sole responsibility of the contributor. SKENE may assist in good faith but has no obligation to alter published materials.

3.5 Reposting and Exclusivity

Submitted work may not be reposted, adapted, or reused by another entity without prior written consent from SKENE. Exclusivity applies for two (2) years from the date of publication.

3.6 Correspondents

Correspondents are individuals engaged by SKENE to facilitate interviews or related editorial content. By submitting work, Correspondents agree to the following:

  • Role: Correspondents act as facilitators between SKENE and Interviewees, ensuring materials are accurate, professional, and aligned with editorial guidance.
  • Attribution: Authorship rests with the Interviewee. Correspondents may receive credit as determined by SKENE (e.g., “In collaboration with”) but may not claim ownership of interview content.
  • Compensation: Approved video interviews may be compensated at rates set by SKENE, subject to monthly limits. Text referrals are not compensated financially but may receive auxiliary credit.
  • Exclusivity: Interview materials facilitated by Correspondents form part of SKENE’s editorial archive and may not be republished, adapted, or distributed independently.
  • Termination: The correspondent relationship is conducted in good faith and may be terminated at any time by either party through written notice.
3.7 Editorial Discretion and Selection of Materials

All decisions regarding the acceptance, editing, scheduling, and publication of submitted materials are made at the sole discretion of SKENE’s editorial team. Submission of content, including self-nominations or unsolicited materials, does not guarantee review, publication, or acknowledgment.

SKENE is under no obligation to provide feedback, justification, or editorial notes regarding declined submissions or materials not selected for publication. Contributors acknowledge that editorial choices may be influenced by space limitations, thematic direction, or other internal considerations, and waive any claim against SKENE arising from non-publication of submitted content.

3.8 Age of Contributors

By submitting content, contributors affirm that they are at least 18 years of age, or 13 years of age with verified parental or guardian consent.


4. Conflict Resolution Policy
4.1 Direct Resolution Encouraged

Individuals who believe their rights have been infringed or misrepresented are encouraged to first contact the contributing artist directly to seek an amicable resolution.

4.2 Formal Removal Requests

If you believe information or photographic attribution infringes copyright or misrepresents you, you may request removal by contacting SKENE at admin@skene.pub with the word DEACTIVATE in the subject line, and a copy of the article URL and explanation of your complaint in the email body. Upon receipt:

  • The referenced article or material will be immediately deactivated.
  • The contributing artist will be notified of the complaint.
  • The complainant will be copied on that correspondence for transparency and documentation.
4.3 Disclaimer

All Featured Artist materials, projects, and user-submitted content are provided freely by contributors. According to the Contributor Form and this Agreement:

  • SKENE does not publish corrections, amendments, or retractions.
  • All disputes arising from content are the sole responsibility of the contributor.
  • By submitting materials, contributors agree to these terms and the Contributor Form.
  • SKENE may, at its discretion, act in good faith but is under no obligation to alter published materials.
4.4 Arbitration and Waiver of Class Actions

Except where prohibited by law, disputes arising under these Terms will be resolved through binding arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association (AAA). By using SKENE platforms, you waive the right to a jury trial or to participate in a class action. Users may opt out of arbitration by providing written notice to admin@skene.pub within 30 days of first agreeing to these Terms.


5. Acceptable Use Policy

Users and contributors agree to use SKENE platforms responsibly and in compliance with these Terms. The following activities are expressly prohibited:

  • Illegal Content: Submitting or distributing content that violates any applicable law, regulation, or third-party rights, including copyright, trademark, or contractual obligations.
  • Harmful Content: Publishing material that is defamatory, harassing, discriminatory, obscene, threatening, hateful, or otherwise inappropriate.
  • Misrepresentation: Impersonating any person or entity, or misrepresenting your affiliation with SKENE or any other organization.
  • Unauthorized Use: Attempting to gain unauthorized access to SKENE systems, user data, or accounts, or using the Site in a manner that could damage, disable, or impair SKENE’s services.
  • Malicious Activity: Uploading or transmitting malware, viruses, or any harmful code intended to disrupt or compromise the Site or its users.
  • Commercial Exploitation: Using SKENE platforms for advertising, solicitation, or commercial purposes unrelated to SKENE without prior written consent.
  • Child Protection: SKENE prohibits the posting, sharing, or solicitation of sexually explicit, exploitative, or suggestive content involving minors. Any attempt to do so will result in immediate removal, termination of access, and referral to appropriate authorities, consistent with applicable law.

SKENE reserves the right to remove or restrict access to content that violates this policy, and to suspend or terminate access for users or contributors who engage in prohibited conduct.


6. Intellectual Property
6.1 Ownership of SKENE Creative Media Materials

All content, design elements, logos, trademarks, service marks, trade names, graphics, visual identity, digital architecture, and branding associated with Skene Creative Media, SKENE.pub, #skeneTEACH, and all affiliated programs, platforms, and services (collectively “SKENE Intellectual Property”) are the exclusive property of Skene Creative Media, LLC. These materials are protected by United States copyright, trademark, and intellectual property laws, as well as international conventions.

6.2 Use Restrictions

No part of SKENE Intellectual Property may be copied, reproduced, distributed, transmitted, displayed, published, or adapted in any form or by any means—electronic, mechanical, photocopying, recording, or otherwise—without the prior written consent of Skene Creative Media. Unauthorized use of SKENE Intellectual Property is strictly prohibited and may result in legal action.

6.3 License to Users

Access to SKENE platforms grants users a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to view and interact with SKENE content solely for personal, non-commercial purposes. This license does not transfer ownership or grant any rights beyond those expressly stated herein.

6.4 Contributor Materials

Contributors retain ownership of their original submissions but grant SKENE the license rights outlined in Section 3.3 (Use of Materials). SKENE is not responsible for ensuring that contributor-submitted materials are free of third-party intellectual property claims; such responsibility rests solely with the contributor.

6.5 Third-Party Intellectual Property

All third-party trademarks, service marks, or logos displayed on SKENE platforms are the property of their respective owners. Use of such marks does not imply endorsement, affiliation, or sponsorship by SKENE. Contributors and users must respect third-party intellectual property rights at all times.

6.6 Enforcement of Rights

Skene Creative Media actively protects its intellectual property. Unauthorized use, reproduction, or misrepresentation of SKENE Intellectual Property may result in immediate termination of access, removal of content, and legal enforcement of rights.

6.7 Future Platforms and Materials

These protections extend to any future platforms, programs, content, or services created, launched, or otherwise operated by Skene Creative Media under the SKENE brand or affiliated initiatives.


7. Sponsorships and Affiliate Partnerships

SKENE may participate in advertising programs, sponsored collaborations, and affiliate partnerships with brands, retailers, or third-party organizations. Certain links published on SKENE platforms may generate a commission on qualifying purchases made through those links. These commissions are earned at no additional cost to the user and help support the continued operation of SKENE.

Not all links published on SKENE platforms are affiliate links. SKENE maintains editorial independence and will only feature products, services, or partnerships that are consistent with its mission and values. Honest representation of featured content is a core principle of SKENE’s editorial standards.

SKENE complies with all applicable disclosure requirements under the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) guidelines regarding endorsements, sponsorships, and affiliate relationships.


8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SKENE.pub, SKENE Magazine, and Skene Creative Media (collectively, “SKENE”) disclaim all liability for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to:

  • The use of, or inability to use, SKENE platforms or services.
  • Reliance on published content, including errors, omissions, or inaccuracies.
  • Interactions between contributors, correspondents, interviewees, or third parties facilitated through SKENE.
  • The removal, modification, or refusal of submitted content.
  • Technical issues, system interruptions, or unauthorized access to user data.

No advice or information, whether oral or written, obtained through SKENE shall create any warranty not expressly stated in these Terms. Users and contributors acknowledge that they access and use SKENE platforms at their own risk.


9. Termination of Access

SKENE.pub reserves the right to suspend or terminate access to the Site or contributor privileges at its sole discretion, without prior notice, for any violation of these Terms.


10. Updates to Terms

SKENE.pub may revise these Terms and Conditions at any time. Updated terms will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of the Site constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.


11. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas, United States of America, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any disputes, claims, or legal proceedings arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Travis County, Texas. By using SKENE.pub, you consent to the personal jurisdiction of these courts.


12. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing SKENE.pub or submitting content, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions in full.
